Extend Mode is a bijou software development studio that specialises in crafting artisanal arcade-style games, pushing classic styles to be as fun as we can make them.
In the early eighties, Extend Mode produced some of the greatest arcade games ever made. Despite early success, Extend Mode was one of the many companies that fell onto hard times during the videogame crash of 1983. and left the entertainment industry and its home country to focus on European industrial control software.Recent History
Those classic arcade games still have many fans, and with the modern resurgence in the popularity of home gaming the time is ripe for Extend Mode to update some of its legendary games for modern systems. The first of these was its most well-known game, Crazy Otto. Released on Steam in summer of 2016, this eight-player competitive-cooperative team game was not only the best arcade maze game ever released, but also a contender for greatest couch multiplayer game ever. Extend Mode's current project is Eight Dragons, the first home version of the classic eight-player cooperative scrolling beat-'em-up. Choosing from one of eight unique characters, the team goes into battle against the forces of crime that have over-run the city of Scumville. As well as classic arcade action, Eight Dragons has a compelling story that adapts to the players as they play through the game. Every choice they make affects the story!
